The former Manchester Business School East is an existing building within the University of Manchester Estate and is adjacent to the Manchester Engineering Campus Development completed in 2021.
Linked to MECD the refurbishment of MBSE creates a Tech Playground to offer Students and Colleagues opportunities to interface and develop with new technologies. Spaces include new flexible work areas, studios, labs and teaching rooms arranged around a central atrium.
The building is also the first phase in a programme of Decarbonisation works to support the University of Manchester Net Zero Carbon targets. Works replace fossil fuel as the primary heat source with major building fabric and services upgrades to improve the thermal performance and reduce air leakage.
