A bid to provide 1050 undergraduate rooms for the University of Liverpool on a gateway site overlooking the city.
The design proposals, formed of two interlocking courtyards, sought to redefine a fragmented section of the campus and contribute to the revival of the City Knowledge Quarter while strengthening the historic Crown Street and Chatham Street thoroughfares.
The design developed a clear logic in terms of plan, section and elevation that articulated a clear morphology and building silhouette against the profile of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the wider city skyline.
